Natural hair care can honestly be a real pain if you do not have a set hair care routine. When my hair was at its healthiest, I was deep conditioning 1x a week and doing some sort of protein treatment at least 1x a month. I would wash and style my hair 1x a week and my hair really prospered doing this.

After getting pregnant, I got extremely lazy for obvious reasons and resorted to #BunLife for what felt like my entire pregnancy and several months after having Ava. I recently talked myself into getting a weave and am now regretting the whole ordeal. HAHA. Seriously, how do you guys take care of your natural hair while wearing weaves? Every time I get one, I feel like my hair is all broken off, and thinner than before. And this time I was talked into getting a quick weave…..WHY ASHLI… and my edges suffered the most. SOO as you can imagine my natural hair routine and comeback with the bomb hair is 1st on my list of to -do’s. So this list is not only to share my favs but jog my memory and get myself back into routine !

With my natural hair , moisture is KEY and the products below really deliver ! My goal is to minimize (not eliminate) the amount of heat I use, and maintain a regular hair care routine!

Listed below are my 5 favorite deep conditioners that are a MUST HAVE in my natural hair care routine!

Deep Conditioners

This is the most important step in my hair care routine. This step really adds the additional moisture my hair needs and preps it for heat styling. It helps to ease detangling, and gives me a nice silk finish.

Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque (Absolute FAV!!) This mask is my favorite because it really makes my curls pop. It smells great and leaves your hair feeling really moisturized. It can be a little pricey, but I normally find it for a discount at my local Tj Maxx. The link above is from Wal-Mart, and has a very comparable price!

Cream of Nature Argan Oil Intensive Conditioning Treatment. This is a great drugstore option for a deep conditioner. It smells great and makes natural hair very easy to style. Like most the Cream of Nature products , it never lets me down !

Silicon Mix Hair Treatment. This is also an affordable option. I can normally find this at a beauty supply store or online at Amazon. When I used to go the Dominican Hair salon to get my hair pressed this is the product they used and it left my hair soft and made the style last a little longer than normal.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle is another favorite of mine. This one you can pick up from Target or Wal-Mart for only $3 .. Yes, sis.. $3!

Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Conditioner is not really a deep conditioner but it is a great option. If I don’t have a lot of time to really deep condition this is great, because you can just leave it in for a few minutes in the shower but you still get amazing hydration. Also only $3..
